INDIAN PETROGLYPHS IN THE HALEY HILLS

Harry Hughes was kind enough to contribute these photos to my website. He took them during a visit to the Haley Hills in the summer of 2009. This rock art was probably made by the Anasazi -- “the ancient ones” -- a prehistoric people who lived in the area from around 750 A.D. to 1450 and who are the ancestors of our current pueblo Indians. As I find out more about these drawings in particular, I will post an update accordingly. Until then, enjoy the pics.

The following two pics were also taken by Harry -- a view from the northwest end of the hills and a mesquite bosque after a summer rain. Thanks, Harry!
