FIRST CORRECTION: In Part 1, Chapter 1 of my book on pages 15-18, I discuss at length the following assertion made by Dion Fortune back in the early part of the 20th century:

"American occultism will never come until its own until it ceases to import its systems from Europe and India, picking up the aboriginal contacts, and daring to bend them to its own evolutionary purposes. It must seek contacts of the Sun Temple of Atlantis through the Maya tradition. Egypt has no message for the United States. Americans can learn esoteric philosophy and science from the Western tradition, just as Europeans can learn from the Eastern tradition, but the initiatory forces cannot be conveyed across the Atlantic or Pacific. Some day there will come an American who will pick up the ancient Maya contacts, adapt them to modern needs, and express their forces in an initiatory ritual which shall be valid for the civilization to which he belongs."

While I generally agreed with her sentiment, I believed it was a partial truth. For one, it reflects the social biases of her time. It doesn't take into account what a huge melting pot the country was and has become even more so; hence the genetic disposition is evolving just as rapidly as its population demographics. Then initiation is an inner matter as well -- old souls carry over old initiations from past incarnations. For more insight on this issue and also the modern adaptions of Eastern traditions in the west, please see my book. But overall, I think that her prediction is true about an American who would come along and change things in a very big way.

This is what I wrote in my book: "Pondering that statement at length, the first thing that came to my mind was the work of Carlos Castaneda. In recent decades, much research and analysis has gone into his work and that of other authors influenced by the Toltec tradition, such as Don Miguel Ruiz. Revealing insights are found in the work of Edward Plotkin, who has documented the similarities between the complex teachings of the Yaqui sorcerer, Don Juan, and the more esoteric tenets of Tibetan Buddhism, such as Vajrayana and Dzogchen."

While their contributions are significant to the American understanding of metaphysical principle, I do not believe that either of them is the one Dion Fortune was talking about.

Shortly after I published my book in 2004, I realized I forgot to mention the work of a remarkable being. I now believe that he is the person she presaged. He goes by the name of

Drunvalo Melchizedek

.
Dru has authored The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life, Vols, 1 and 2; Living in the Heartl; Journeys into the Heart; Serpent of Light: Beyond 2012 - The Movement of the Earth's Kundalini and the Rise of the Female Light; The Mayan Ouroboros: The Cosmic Cycles Come Full Circle, and many more writings, CDs, DVDs, all containing his invaluable words, experiences, and workshops. He founded The School of Remembering and sponsors many students who are attempting to do exactly what I predicted would be the future of the world's mystery schools: An integration and blending of all wisdom teachings, traditions, methods, and approaches in such a way that ANYONE from ANYWHERE could understand them and benefit from them. In other words, he's not establishing an "American" tradition -- he's one of the first to create an actual science of Spirit. What I mean is this: what we've called "science" in the past and "spirituality" in the past are fading into the background of a new cosmology which is Earth-centered, global, wholistic, and interdependent. It doesn't have a name yet. It's just a new and better, more complete perspective on truth which will continue to evolve just like us. In fact, on one level -- it's reflecting us and IS us just as the Hermetic Axiom has eternally claimed:

As above, so below; as below, so above.

The FUTURE is NOW.

I encourage everyone to take advantage of all the free resources online that stem from this monumental happening.
